About me
I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, regulated by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in a variety of settings, each one centred on empowering and advocating for individuals including victims of crime, domestic abuse survivors and trauma victims. Working in diverse settings has given me the ability to intuitively connect with individuals, understand their needs and help them on their journey to growth.
I have extensive experience delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapies in various clinical settings, including the NHS, and I bring this valuable knowledge and expertise to my private practice. My approach is warm and friendly with the aim of creating a safe space for people to be heard and validated.

My Approach: Clinical Expertise with a Human Touch
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is based on a very simple idea – that how we think affects how we feel, which in turn affects what we do. When we get stuck in a difficult cycle – like feeling anxious or low – it’s usually because these three things are feeding into each other in a way that feels impossible to break.
We’ll work together to explore your thinking patterns, identifying which ones are working and breaking the ones that aren’t. It’s about empowering you to know yourself better and when you do, it can be life changing.
Although a specialist in CBT, I believe therapy works best when it’s person centred, by that I mean YOU are at the centre of this process. My approach is integrative and flexible, meaning I use my clinical training as a map but I let your unique experience guide the journey. We will certainly look at the 'what' and 'how' of your thoughts and behaviours, but we’ll do it in a way that feels natural, intuitive and tailored to who you are.
Approaches I draw upon within therapy:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Counselling and life coaching
How will we work together?
Therapy is a collaborative journey. We will use evidence-based tools to help you feel better, but we’ll also make space for:
- The Unstructured: Some weeks you'll need a specific strategy, other weeks you might just need a safe space to process what’s happening right now.
- The Root & Result: CBT tends to focus on the ‘here and now’ to manage symptoms, but here at The Calm Clinic, we’re not afraid to explore the 'why' behind your patterns if it helps you find deeper peace.
- Flexibility: We’ll move at your pace. The goal is your wellbeing and feeling empowered to make the changes you want.
